What is the difference between reusable paper towels and cloth wipes?

The main difference between them is the size! Our reusable paper towels are 10x12”, they are roughly the same size as a full sheet of paper towel, they can be rolled up the same way. Our cloth wipes are smaller at approximately 8x8”.

Where are your reusable paper towels / cloth wipes made?

We stock reusable paper towels and cloth wipes from two women owned Canadian brands: Cheeks Ahoy and Three Huggers. The reusable wipes and non paper towels are all hand made locally in Ontario, Canada.

How absorbent are reusable paper towels / cloth wipes?

Our reusable paper towels and cloth wipes are made from super soft and absorbent 100% cotton flannel. These cloth towels and wipes are not pre-washed, so they are least absorbent when first used. Flannel naturally becomes softer and absorbent wash after wash. Fabric piling naturally occurs after the cotton flannels are washed. It is not an indication that the fabric is disintegrating or wearing away. Pilling creates texture which helps with cleaning, absorption and cling. The unpaper towels actually cling better once the fabric has been washed and dried a few times.

How long do reusable paper towels / cloth wipes last?

Because our reusable paper towels and cloth wipes are made from 100% cotton flannel, they are incredibly strong and durable. As long as you take care of them properly by following the wash and care instructions, they can easily last for years.

How do I wash / care for reusable paper towels / cloth wipes?

Our reusable paper towels and cloth wipes are not pre-washed, so please wash and dry before first use. For best result, loosen stains with a cold rinse first, if necessary. Wash warm or hot with like colours using your detergent of choice. Tumble dry low or air dry. All fabrics last longer when washed by hand, but feel free to toss them in the washing machine for a more rigorous clean. Our unpaper towels and cloth wipes will hold up to all the rinsing and hot washes you put them through. Please do expect some shrinkage. Please don’t use fabric softener or dryer sheets as they can decrease absorbency.

Wash & Care

Washing:
- Wash in cold water before first use. Hand wash to improve durability.
- Avoid bleaching
- Some shrinkage might occur after the first wash.

Disposal:
- Cut into small pieces before composting to avoid getting caught in the compost machine.

- Replace it after one month usage or when it starts to stink (depending on the frequency of usage).
