    Beeswax Wraps

    What is a beeswax wrap?

Beeswax food wrap is an all natural, eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrap.

All our wraps are made by hand using 100% cotton, Canadian beeswax, tree rosin and jojoba oil.

How do I use beeswax wrap?

Unlike plastic wraps, which can release toxins when they come into contact with food, beeswax wrap is made from organic cotton and coated with beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and tree resin, all of which are food-safe materials.

How do I clean my beeswax wrap?

In order to "activate" the wrap and to get it to be at it's prime "stickiness", we recommend using the heat of your hands in order to warm the wrap before you use it. This involves manoeuvring the wrap between your fingers and using the heat of your hands to press and help it stick to the edge of whatever surface you are trying to adhere it to.

Tip: Beeswax wraps stick best to themselves.

Although beeswax has naturally antimicrobial properties, we don't recommend them for use on raw meat.

Fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, snacks, and cheeses are all good.

How long will my beeswax wrap last?

Rinse with cold water or wipe with cool, damp cloth. Use mild soap, if necessary.

Avoid hot water, as it will melt the beeswax. Hang or lay flat to dry.

    Swedish Dishcloth

    What is a Swedish dishcloth?

Swedish Dishcloths are a reusable, all natural alternative to paper towels and sponges.

Invented in 1949 by a Swedish engineer, the mixture of natural cellulose and cotton can absorb up to 20x its weight.

What are the Swedish dishcloths made of?

Swedish dishcloths are typically made of wood based cellulose and cotton.

How are they different to the traditional dishcloths?

Traditional dishcloths are generally made from microfiber or cotton. These are good for cleaning, but they are not very good at releasing liquid and dirt. Your cloth ended up being heavy and damp, and that's how odours have the chance to develop and grow.

Swedish dishcloths are made from wood cellulose and cotton fibers, so they function like a sponge and cloth. These cellulose sponge cloths absorb and quickly release liquid, thus allowing them to dry very quickly. Consequently, odours do not have a chance to develop, so they don't smell.

    How to use Swedish dishcloths?

Swedish dishcloths can be used just like a cotton dish rag or paper towel. They are perfect to clean up water and tea spills, dry dishes and pots, as well as wipe countertops and other surfaces.

    Lay flat or hang dry.

    How to clean Swedish dishcloths?

Swedish dishcloths can be cleaned or disinfected in several ways:

    - hand wash with soap

    - place in the top rack of the dishwasher

    - boil in water or microwave (when damp) for 1 minute

    - wash in the washing machine (please keep it out of the dryer)

How long will Swedish dishcloths last?

Most Swedish Dishcloths will last for a year or more when used with care.

Our Swedish dishcloths are entirely compostable. Simply place in your municipal or backyard compost bin.

    Shampoo & Conditioner Bars

    What is a shampoo bar?

A shampoo bar is a concentrated bar, similar to bar soap (but different ingredients!), that is water activated to gently cleanse the hair and scalp, just like traditional liquid shampoo.

How do you use a shampoo bar?

Shampoo bars may sound weird if you’ve never used one before, but they are quite simple to use. All you do is to rub the bar over your roots and hair, and gently massage and lather as you would any normal shampoo.

Does a shampoo bar dry out my hair?

Not at all. Our bars are full of moisturizing oils that prevent the bars from stripping your hair and leaving it dried out and unhappy. We have bars that caters for all hair types - from oily to dry - and everything in between!

    Do shampoo bars lather?

Although it’s true that foamy lather is not necessary for cleaning your hair, most people seem to prefer that a shampoo has lots of lather. Our bars produce a super rich lather with loads of fluffy bubbles to naturally clean and condition your scalp, leaving hair soft, shiny, clean and, most of all, healthy.

    What is a conditioner bar?

Unlike regular liquid or cream conditioners, conditioner bars are totally solid, and aren't housed in plastic bottles.

How do you use a conditioner bar?

When you're ready to condition after shampooing, just massage the bar over the ends of your hair, then let sit for a few mins and rinse. Just like your ordinary conditioner. It is really just this simple.

How many washes can I get?

Our shampoo and conditioner bars are totally concentrated, with minimal water content. With proper use and care they should last for a loooong time. With the water removed, these concentrated bars can do the job of 2 to 3 regular bottles of liquid shampoo and conditioners, approximately 100 washes! Better still there is no plastic bottle to throw away afterward.

Are your shampoo and conditioner bars sulphate-free?

Yes, all the shampoo and conditioner bars we stock are sulphate-free. They are also Vegan!
