Fabric Bowl Covers FAQs

Why use fabric bowl cover?

Fabric bowl covers are plastic free, machine washable and reusable. Plastic wraps are rarely recycled, they contribute greatly to the global plastic pollution.  Unlike plastic wraps, our reusable fabric bowl covers can be recycled or composted.

Do fabric bowl covers keep food fresh?

Yes, fabric bowl covers can keep food fresh. There are two types of bowl covers: waxed and non waxed bowl covers, when used appropriately, they are great addition to your kitchen.

A waxed bowl cover is layered with pure beeswax, which makes it function very similarly to a beeswax wrap. These reusable bowl covers come with sewn in elastic so that it is easy to secure your bowl covers firmly around the bowls. The beeswax helps to make the bowl cover airtight, locks in the moisture and keeps food fresh in the fridge for longer. Typically the leftovers covered in waxed bowl cover will keep for a few days in the refrigerator.

The unwaxed bowl cover is best suited for food you want to cover for a couple of hours. It is great for keeping the fruit flies away, covering rising dough or snacks.
